Responses, Part 1
What advice would you offer the Canadian hockey teams?

Here are responses to the above question:

Good Luck. Please Figure out how to get an apology from the U.S. woman's team for putting our flag on the floor of their locker room.. You just don't do that to a country's flag...
Wolf

Canadian hockey teams don't need any advice! I just hope the men follow the women's lead and take home a gold that has been missing for way too much and should never be won from a country other than Canada. Seeing so many superb players putting a Canada jersey on also makes me sad though because they should all be playing for an NHL team based in Canada, not in some other troubled country. I will also root for Russia obviously but just for the semi-final. Maybe this is the season the Stanley Cup finally comes back to The Great North. I hope so. GO CANADA!

I believe in miracles. But... The Canadian hockey teams don't need a miracle. They already have all they need to bring home the gold medals they all so richly deserve. With the women's team already on the top position of the podium, the men will be able to collect their gold with the skill and strength they already possess. GO TEAM CANADA!

Men: pass more. Women: make sure you win this game, I'm watching right now (final).

I am constantly amazed at the lack of respect other countries receive from Americans. Do they not have any respect for others. When the American players/coaches placed our flag on the floor of the American women's locker room, they demonstrated nothing but disrespect. The world needs to know this. Our men's team should take this to heart when they play the Americans. Let's give them a lesson on Canadian fortitude. How's that fuel for the fire?

Think clear blue sky, buffalo roaming the plains, fish jumping in the streams, relax and don't sweat the small stuff. Oh - and keep your stick on the ice. Cameron Frame Calgary

My advice to the Canadian hockey teams; look within. Self-realization - you are Canadian with above-average skill, pride, experience, conscientiousness, true-grit, courage, determination, integrity, fair play, hard work… winners! As for the Russians...GO HOME! For 40 years I have watched Russian cheating. Now they are being caught… finally… You threaten to go home... GO HOME!

I wish to comment on the lack of public recognition the Norwegian Olympic team is getting here in Toronto. I have listened to reports on the radio of first and second standing of medals won without mentioning Norway's third. Norway has also the greatest number of gold medals. This is no small accomplishment considering Norway's population is no larger than Greater Toronto. I also find it strange that when reporting on an event the Canadian news reporters will often report Canada's place after an event without reporting the winners. As you probably guessed, I am an Norwegian settled in Toronto and cheering for both countries.

Bench Lindros. He made six huge mistakes (costing a turnover or costing Canada a scoring opportunity) in the first period alone. Halfway through the third period, I realized I hadn't seen him screw up since the mid-2nd period. Then I realized it was because he was benched.

Get better and improve your technique. Have more coaching lessons and hire a better coach.
