Responses, Part 1
Should judging in figure skating be examined?

Here are responses to the above question:

Jamie and David: You were brilliant, perfect in every sense of the word. In our eyes you won the Gold. Hold your heads high and be proud, all Canadians are behind you. The judges were blind, you were robbed. All the best.
Bob and May McKillen
Kingston, Ontario

Shae-Lynn and Victor deserve more than anyone to get a fair judging. They are my favourites.
Richard Benson

I think that Salé and Pelletier were simply robbed of what is rightfully their gold medal! The judges are corrupt and dishonest. They should be ashamed and disbarred from ever judging again! What a crappy system. The sport needs to immediately look at how it assigns its judges. Salé and Pelletier are and will always be #1 gold medallists to all Canadians. They are true champions.

I am so upset about the judging in the Pairs compition, I can't even spell right. My heart goes out to David and Jamie. Please do something about the judging. Have them investigated or something.
Fay Robbie

Well, here we go again ... I've just watched the most fantastic clean pairs skate ... Jamie and David and guess who won? The Russians of course ... talk about fixed and pre-arranged. I mean 11 years of winning for the Russians wouldn't you think that's a little strange? We have great skaters. It's unbelievable and it is about time something was done about it. But Jamie and David won gold in the hearts of all Canadians… Well done guys... they were awesome and deserved to win that gold medal.

I think it is an embarrassment to the world that the judges are not honest! Why worry about drug testing athletes if the only thing that matters is coaches who "work" judges to place their team? I guess it is obvious that the Olympics are not about who is the "best". Jamie Salé and David Pelletier were the gold performance and the decisions should be appealed, everyone with a pair of eyes knew they won that gold medal. Shame on you judges! Shame on the Olympics!
Karen

Salé and Pelletier are the best the world has. I feel as if I was slapped in the face for being Canadian after watching last night's competition. It's a real shame that a sport like figure skating is racked with judges that can't see beyond the politics of their sport and the personal favors they will receive. Jamie and David won the gold last night and that gold wasn't a dinky piece of metal it was the world's respect and emotion. They won the hearts of the crowd and the admiration of everyone that watched. The world skating federation needs a swift kick in the tights, because out of the millions that watched Salé and Pelletier last night, only five judges saw it fit to grant them second, when the rest of the world knows they won gold. Salé and Pelletier showed the true meaning of the Olympics last night. It's not about politics, drugs or whose the judges favorites. They showed that the Olympics is about capturing the hearts of those who watch, those who hope and those that dream. Jamie and David, are true Olympians and despite the outcome of last night, are still the best in the world…. Because they inspired it last night for four minutes.
