Responses, Part 1
What sport will be the big medal winner for Canada?

Here are responses to the above question:

Speed skating. Let's hope we can all restrain ourselves from beating up on those athletes who don't quite reach our sometimes inflated hopes. Our national sport isn't lacrosse or hockey; it's whinging as an expression of our collective inferiority complex. Jeff Holmes

Speed Skating. Canada won nine medals the last time around and I'm confident that the Canadian Team (the best one ever) can top that by at least two medals. I'm also pretty sure that we'll be able to top the U.S. team for the second Winter Games in a row. Canada has always been better at winter sports than the U.S., so it only makes sense.
Ben Gordon

Figure skating, without a doubt. I believe Elvis will take Gold in the mens. Shaelyn and Victor, Gold in dance and Jamie and David, Gold in pairs.
Mazie Ann Nelson

: I think long track speed skating will bring the most medals to Canada. How can we miss with LeMay Doan and Wotherspoon?

I strongly think that Canada's big medal event will be snowboarding, and women's hockey.

I feel the Canadians will win the gold in both the men's and women's hockey. We rock at this sport. I also think we will get a medal in the snowboarding. Go Canada Go.

Men's hockey.

I think Canada will do extremely well in Speed Skating, that will probably be their best medal event. My educated guess is they will also do well in men and women's hockey/curling expect either a gold or silver in these events. Lastly, expect some upsets in freestyle skiing, snowboarding, the bobsled, luge, and skeleton. Overall they should rate in the top five in medals, putting them on a similar pace as Nagano. Maybe #3 if we pull some big upsets. I'm hoping that Canadian hockey pride will be restored for both the men/women's teams, but they do face tough competition. So, I expect a gold/silver in that event, but I won't go out on the limb to pick which team will do it. Well bye for now, from a Canadian Olympic fan working in South Korea!

It will be speed skating, both long and short track. Canada will score big medals here.
