Two-time world junior champion Marie-Ève Drolet, 20, of Laterriere, Que., made an immediate impact when she jumped to the senior level in 2001, winning four medals in the final two World Cup stops.
Those results are made more impressive by the fact that Drolet missed the entire 2000 season. At the 2000 Canadian trials, she fractured a vertebrae in her back during a fall and didn't skate for the rest of the year. She returned in 2001 to win the world junior title.
She'll compete in four events in Salt Lake City: the 500 metres, 1,000 metres, 1,500 metres and 3,000-metre relay.
