Guillaume Morisset, 21, of Ste-Foy, Que., knows the pain involved in making an Olympic team. After all, Morisset, a medal contender in the half pipe, has dislocated both his shoulders and broken a leg practising gravity-defying jumps.
Morriset, an ex-gymnast, has steadily risen on the world stage, and now enters the Olympics ranked third.
The national team veteran may face the stiffest competition in Salt Lake City from his own Canadian teammates. At a World Cup event at Whistler, B.C., in December, Morisset finished second behind teammate Michael Michalchuk and a head of teammate Daniel Migneault.
