Duff Gibson, 35, of Calgary has made a successful transition from bobsleigh to skeleton. Gibson, a former member of the Alberta bobsleigh program, joined the national team as a brakeman in 1996.
Two years later, he used his speed and power to become one of the fastest starters on the skeleton circuit.
During his first World Cup season in 2000-01, he saw instant results, finishing seventh at the world championships following a second-place result at the Canadian championships. He went from 15th overall on the World Cup last year to ninth this season.
