Chris Moffat, 22, of Calgary began his career in style with a gold medal at the 1997 Canadian junior championships. That same year he was paired with current doubles partner Eric Pothier. That union paid immediate dividends, as the team won the Alberta championships as well as both Canadian junior and senior titles. For several years, Moffat continued to compete both as a single and double in both the junior and senior ranks. With Pothier, he qualified for the Olympics in January of 2001 when they finished ninth at a World Cup event in Austria. A week later, he qualified as a single at an event in Germany. He'll be the lone Canadian in Salt Lake City to compete in both disciplines.
