Athlete Profile

Deidra Dionne, 19, of Red Deer couldn't asked for much more out of her two World Cup seasons. As a rookie in 1999-2000, Dionne won a bronze medal in her first-ever World Cup event at Blackcomb, B.C.

She followed that performance up with a silver medal the next weekend in Deer Valley, Utah. She was later voted the circuit's rookie of the year.

Last year, Dionne won a bronze medal at the world championships, which helped to boost her world ranking for 20th at the end of her rookie season to ninth following the 2000-2001 campaign.
