Athlete Profile

Jennifer Robinson, 25, of Goderich, Ont., won her first Canadian national figure skating championship in 1996, and after a few off years she's taken the top spot in each of the past three years (1999, 2000 and 2001). She's competed in five world championships, with an eighth place finish in 2000 as her best ranking to date.

Robinson became addicted to her sport at the age of 8 when she watched an Ice Capades show. She was so enthralled she signed up for skating lessons the next day. Her brother Jason is looking to make good on the ice as well - he was drafted by the NHL's Tampa Bay Lighting in 1996 but has not made a spot for himself in their lineup yet.
