Atom Egoyan’s Ararat opens the 2002 Toronto International Film Festival. This film-within-a-film follows the making of a movie about the often-overlooked Armenian holocaust. Newcomer David Alpay stars as a driver on the film’s set whose life is changed by the tragic story. Marie-Josee Croze, Christopher Plummer and Bruce Greenwood are among the ensemble cast of Ararat , which had its world debut at Cannes.
