Messages to the Canadian Troops
I am the mother of three grown children. One of them is a son, 29 years old. He has already stated that if things escalate any more, he intends on enlisting. As a mother I breathed a sigh of relief when I learned he was beyond the normal age for drafting (he is a U.S. citizen). He pretty much blew that peace out of the water. But nothing in life is black and white. I will accept any decision he makes. I offer you the same acceptance. If you're scared, well, that sounds pretty normal to me. If you're angry, well, that too sounds like an expected response. If you're both, I would like to pray for you as you sort out this world we live in. If I had any gift for you, it would be the gift of faith in a higher power who can take over where our human limitations stop.
Beth Franklin, Nova Scotia
Thank you for your sacrifice, and thank you for serving our country.
Be tough - you are fighting for a greater good.
Best of luck to you all as you sail into the Persian Gulf. A special wish for Kelly aboard HMCS Vancouver. We are proud of you.
Helen Searle, Halifax
It is absolutely necessary to ensure that Canada, the free world and future generations can live in security and enjoy the basic freedoms we take for granted every day of our lives.
Je vous souhaite la meilleur des chances. Bon courage et au plaisir de vous revoir à la célébration de votre retour.
I'm lucky to be Canadian. I'm proud that you're defending our country and trying to save others. Thank you for helping us keep our country safe and thank you so much for our freedom.

The absolute correctness of your cause is not in doubt for a moment.
I hope all of you will return to Canada and be reunited with your loved ones. You are in everyone's thoughts.

We love you guys!
I wouldn't want to be a snake or a fox with the Canadian grizzly on the way.
Here in Vienna, we are all the way behind you. God bless you and your work.

Don't worry about things. It will be okay.
We are confident in your ability to make a difference. We send special wishes to our nephew, Sean, on board The Charlottetown. Think about you often, Sean. Hope all is well. Keep smiling.
