  1. Doug F. from Hanmer, Canada writes: These two courageous young people are the only 'Stars' I care about in the least. They are also the ONLY reason I might watch a bit of the show itself. I hope the movie wins and that they have a most excellent adventure in Hollywierd.
  2. Adeptus Luminati from Victoria, Canada writes: Wow, $1200 pay for being a co-star in an oscar winning movie? What a rip off! Maybe she can sue them when she gets to America. Isn't that the American way? ;-)
  3. Stan B from Canada writes: Adseptus, if you watched the movie, you would say it was the Indian way. Everything not exactly straight and naroow is not American only. Get out a bit.
  4. Chris E. from Canada writes: She may have a future in Bollywood, but many child stars flame out when they can not handle the sudden wealth and attention.

It was a smart decision to pay her according to local rates. Now she should be left alone to grow up, and the trust fund will be waiting.

Let us hope this does not spur dozens of copy cat movies trying to cash in.
  5. Republic of Saturn from Canada writes:
Imagine millions may be worse than her and don't get her chance.....

Saving one miserable life is nice, but not enough.
  6. Ben Marshall from Toronto, Canada writes: Maybe I am too much of a dreamer and not cynical enough for some, but this story made me feel happy almost to a point of tears..That this amazing little 8 year old girl from a Mumbai slum has gotten the opportunity of a lifetime and is obviously so mature, happy, articulate and confident as she prepares for a trip of a lifetime to Hollywood, allows me to forget about all the problems in the world for a few minutes and makes me to believe (just as you have to in the film)that anything is possible...Here's to Danny Uncle coming through with the promise of a new abode for her and her family..
  7. Dawn from Minnesota from Minnesota, United States writes: I hope Rubina has a wonderful evening....and wins an Oscar.
