  1. Darryl Youzefowich from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada writes: Free downloads will kill your business every time, just like the music industry. But Hollywood more or less abandoned the baby boomer generation, didn't they? And I am not talking about seeing more mature works from film makers, but that films like Spiderman 3 may leave a lot of people cold. The slasher horror films: forget it. This film generation will become to be known as the Pixar era, which tells you everything. Spielberg, Scorcese, Stone, etc, made their best films years ago and have been in a creative decline for awhile, don't you agree? It appears they have shot their wad, I hope I am wrong. This is not the golden age of film, nor artistic creation (ever looked at the NYTime best seller list for books)! Maybe this recession will bring out people's muses. But the film going experience could be better too, like why can't you have a beer and a meal while watching your movie? Why can't watching a movie be more like a party, or else, more intimate? Why doesn't film culture take hold in the wider arts scene like in other countries (I am not talking celebrity culture)! Then we will start to see better movies, I can guarantee you that.
