I think that she did that because the success of Slumdog Millionaire went to her head. She is a first-time actress and seems bent on a Hollywood career. So, in a move that countless other ingenues have made in order to seek fame, Pinto drops her ordinary-looking husband in the hope of snagging someone rich, famous and influential.
