That's run by PHS Community Services Society, which controls all the key areas in the DTES. Will be the largest charity there by revenue in a year. St James is about $14m a year and PHS will match that when their social housing in Woodward's comes on line.
    Very tight organization, hard to crack. I'm sure you've been criticised by them for reporting on the Pen.
    Maybe do a story on the charity. Try and find out what they paid for the Merchants Bank building and what they want to use it for.
    One of the uses is a cocktail bar - no kidding. A social enterprise.
    PHS is the coolest outfit in town. Very chic. Their clients, not so much.
