Chuck the Canuk from east of eden, Canada writes: what drivle. just because someone at a film festival in europe said this crap was worth an award, everyone jumps on the bandwagon so they don't look like they "don't look like they know what they are doing". same thing the movie industry does all the time. just hype, because the movie itself is mediocre at best, if even that good, far from all this hoopla awards stuff. what a sad state of affairs the industry is in. hahahahaha. almost as bad as the self patting on the back grammys. a dismal affair. can you really believe that raising sand won ANYTHING???? LOL. with slumdog and sand winning things, is it any wonder that sales are down in music and movies? and, and if they aren't down, then obviously the industries are lying about pirating making them destitute and ready to go belly up. so who ya gonna believe eh?

K P from Toronto, Canada writes: Chuck, you're a Canuck so you might be aware that Slumdog had its world* premiere here in Canada (at TIFF), not Europe, and won the *audience favourite prize, so was appreciated by real people and not just critics. When I saw it, the house was full, everyone stayed through the credits, and the movie received a round of applause. Friends had the same experience. I guess yours was different when you saw it, which you must have done to have such a strong opinion. But to each his/her own.
