  1. L H from Somewhere, Canada writes: I was under the impression that Google actually dropped out of the bidding once the bids surpassed the $4.6B threshold for the "open air" or whatever they call it initiative, where carriers have to accept outside devices on their data networks.

    Looks like those game theorists were pretty good at making sure GOOG got what it wanted for the least amount of money.
