Mr Fijne from Calgary, Canada writes: Mr Juppe had the courage to present himself to electors. He lost by a thin margin and honored his pledge to resign should he lose. the seat he was hoping to keep for the right was a difficult one. As a faithful of Chirac, it would seem casual that Mr Sarkozy had not thought from the start that Mr Juppe was on a short fuse anyway: "Minister of ecology and sustainable development", State minister though... The Chirac page is definitly turned and Mr Juppe is paying for it, a bit unfairly I may add. However it is ironic that the left always greener than the greens managed to rejoice in shooting down a man who was to date the most powerful in government in charge of the very environment...
