  1. Mike Bellows from Canada writes: I've seen this article in other media today with a much more apocalyptic twist. The other reports ignore the fact contained herein that the melting of this huge tract began in the 1940's. I'm not denying climate change but it doesn't hurt to disclose this very important fact to curtail the hysteria and maintain our focus on real environmental problems. The Statue of Liberty will not be submerged soon although it does make for great press.
