Among the concerns for both quarterbacks on Sunday is fact that the NFL likes to change balls during the game. The idea is to create more balls actually used in a Super Bowl game, to be sold off or put to other uses down the road.
Quarterbacks, however, prefer a scuffy ball, one they can get their hands on, not the shiny, smooth kind.
"Talking to former Super Bowl quarterbacks, that was the No. 1 thing they all said to me," Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck said. "[They said:] 'Get ready to throw really crappy balls because the balls are bad.'
"That's unfortunate, because in the biggest game of your life you want to play with balls you've been playing with all season."
