Health authorities buy extra flu vaccines

Canadian Press

nadian health authorities have bought an extra 145,000 doses of flu vaccine and are negotiating with a foreign supplier to import more if this season's high demand threatens to outstrip supplies.

Although the country's chief medical officer suggests it's "unlikely" the currently unlicensed foreign vaccine can be imported in time for this flu season, his British Columbia counterpart said he expects to need some of it.
