1944 - 2017

Peacefully in Toronto, at the age
of 73, less than two months after
being diagnosed with cancer
Survived by his wife, Araminta
Wordsworth; and their children,
Robin and Caitlin Wordsworth;
first wife, Stephanie Burke; and
their children, Devan (Alyssa)
and Derek Johnston; grandson,
Henry; and siblings, Kevin
Johnston (Claire Boulee) and
Janeen DesRochers (Michel) and
their families. John Paul Brian
Johnston was born on Feb. 4,
1944, in Midland, Ont., the
oldest child of John Francis
Johnston and Kathleen (nee
Cassidy). Indomitable spirit,
consummate bridge player, wine
lover, American muscle car nut
and crock collector; he was also
a lawyer who battled to reverse
the fee-obsessed stereotype of
his profession. Mr. Johnston will
rest at the Cassidy Funeral
Home, 330 Victoria St. Tweed,
Ontario (613-478-3807), on
Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. Funeral
Mass will be celebrated at St
Edmund's Church, 161-B St
Edmund's Rd., Tweed, Ontario,
on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at
11 a.m., with visitation from 10 -
11 a.m. at the church. Interment
St. Edmund's Cemetery.
