David James Craven

Age 69, of Cambridge, New York
passed away peacefully August
22, 2016. David was born
December 18, 1946 in London,
Ontario and was the son of the
late Edward and Evelyn
(Bleasdale) Craven. He graduated
from Lawrence Park Collegiate in
Toronto, then attended the
University of Western Ontario,
graduating with honors and
earning a B.A. in Business
Administration. David went on to
study art at the Ontario College
of Art, where his career as a
painter began. He was an artist
for 43 years, and was
represented for much of that
time by the Sable-Castelli Gallery
in Toronto. He showed widely in
cities across North America,
including Montreal, Toronto,
Calgary, New York, Atlanta,
Victoria, Edmonton and
Hamilton. His work is
represented in the collections of
many major galleries, including
the National Gallery of Canada,
the Art Gallery of Ontario, the
Montreal Museum of Fine Art,
the Hamilton Art Gallery, the
Vancouver Art Gallery, as well as
private collections in Canada and
the United States. David is
succeeded by his loving wife,
Myra, his sister, Marilyn Craven,
and brother-in-law, Christopher
Allen. A funeral service will be
held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday,
August 29th at Ackley, Ross and
Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 W
