Norman Borradaile Hadley

Outspoken, charismatic, brilliant and incisively funny, Norman died on March 23, 2016 in Tokyo, Japan. Driven and successful at everything he undertook, he had a stellar career in global financial markets, retiring as a Managing Director, Deutsche Bank, Tokyo.

From Oak Bay High School, Victoria, he later played for James Bay Athletic Association, Western Suburbs, Wellington, NZ, UBC Old Boys, London Wasps, Bedford Blues, Suntory, Tokyo, and the renowned British invitational team, the Barbarians. Five-time captain of Canada's national rugby team, he earned 15 caps for Canada between 1985 and 1994, and played for Canada in the 1991 World Cup in France.
Norman also loved language, poetry and music-delighting friends with his deep karaoke rendition of 'House of the Rising Sun'.
