KENNEDY, Anna Currie (nee McAuslan)
In her 99th year, after a brief illness, died peacefully at home in Port Credit, surrounded by family on May 8, 2013. Beloved wife of the late K.Elliott (Red) Kennedy (1990), mother of Bruce (Sutirat) of Thailand, and David (Susan) of Port Credit. Nana to Sean, Peter, Jane and Sarah. Predeceased by her eldest son Peter (Nancy) of North Vancouver and brother James McAuslan. Anna lived a long and wonderful life. The daughter of Minnie and Herb McAuslan, Anna was born and raised in North Bay, and attended the University of Toronto (UC) and the University of Guelph. Upon marriage in 1938, she and Red 'set up house' in Port Credit and cared for two little British 'war guests', Peter and Tim Henry, before raising their own three boys. Summers were spent on the French River. Anna was a founding member of the local branch of the IODE, a long time member of First United Church, and the University Women's Club (Mississauga). She was a member of Mississaugua Golf and Country Club for over fifty years where she golfed, curled and played duplicate bridge. An avid reader, cook, gardener, and traveler, she had a keen interest in everything and everyone. Very special thanks to Dr. Rajiv Khanna, his staff and the palliative nursing team at Red Cross/CCAC for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy and remembrance to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Visitation from 7-9 p.m., Monday May 13, 2013 at Skinner and Middlebrook, 128 Lakeshore Rd. E., Mississauga. A Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 2 p.m., at First United Church, 151 Lakeshore Rd. W, Mississauga, ON.
