POLLARD, Margaret Ruth
Peacefully at her home in Cobourg, Saturday, February 23rd, 2013, Ruth Pollard (nee Merrick) at 91 years of age. Ruth was born in Winnipeg on July 31, 1921. She moved to Vancouver in 1950 and loved living on the Coast for ten wonderful years. Ruth, Jim and family moved to Port Credit in 1960. Ruth had a lifelong love of music and was organist at the Anglican churches in both North Vancouver and Port Credit. She was an active member of St. Peters Anglican parish in Cobourg Ontario which gave her great friendships and community. Predeceased by her parents Jessie Helena and Frederick Charles Merrick. Beloved wife of the late James Keith Pollard. Dear mother of the late Jay Pollard (Lise) of Thunder Bay and Christopher Pollard (Ann Ramsay) of Vancouver. Cherished grandmother of David Pollard (Tara) of Oakville and Cameron (Samantha) and Reilly Pollard of Vancouver. Step-grandmother of Stephanie Giddings of Waterloo and Anne Marie Giddings of Thunder Bay. Cherished great grandmother to Morgan and Aidan Pollard. Sister of Dr. Bill Merrick (Joyce) Duluth, Minnesota and the late John Merrick (Jean) of Moline, Illinois. Sister-in-law of Shirley Pollard and the late Alan Pollard of Cobourg and aunt of Laura, Mark and Luke Pollard. Dear friend and lovingly supported by Colleen and Murray Simon and their family Will, (Rachelle), Alexander and Ria of Cobourg. Former daughter-in- law Shirley Nowak (Bert) of Oakville. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church (corner of College and King St. E in Cobourg) on Saturday, March 2nd, at 2 pm. Visitation will be held at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to St. Peter's Anglican Church.
