STEWART, Ruth Elva (nee Flavell)
Died peacefully with family by her side after a brief illness on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in her 87th year. Wife of the late W. A. (Bill) Stewart; mother of Ted (Anne Finlay-Stewart) and Andrea (Rupert Lennox, 2012); loving grandmother of Andrew Stewart; sister of Esther Newsted, Jessie Ogar and the late John Flavell and fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Ruth was a proud member of the graduating nursing class, 1949, Grace Hospital, Windsor. She was a dedicated camp nurse at Scugog, Sparrow Lake and Geneva Park. Ruth was a long time resident of Glenview Ave., Toronto and an active member of St. George's United Church community. Ruth was involved in the Y.W. C.A., Mayor's Committee on Aging, Red Cross Society at K-Wing Sunnybrook Hospital, and North Toronto Lawn Bowling Club. Many thanks to those who cared for Ruth since her move to Orangeville.
