Passed away February 17, 2013 in his 83rd year. He is survived by Muriel, his wife of 58 years, children Catharine Marceau, Margaret Abernethy (Peter), James (Lorraine) and Eric (Carey) and three grandchildren, Lynsi, Aislin and Ghislaine. A retired journalist he worked for the Montreal Gazette, the British United Press, the Stratford Beacon-Herald, the Kitchener Waterloo Record, the Detroit News and after teaching journalism at URegina, he finished his career at the Regina Leader-Post. Also retired from the militia, he served with the Perth Regiment, the Highland Light Infantry, the 11th Field Artillery, the Essex-Kent Scottish and the Saskatchewan Militia District. He also served a term as aide-de-camp to Frederick Johnson when he was Lt-Governor of Saskatchewan. Visitation 1:00 pm prior to Memorial Service at 2:00 pm Saturday February 23 at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 99 Peter Street North, Orillia. Reception in St. Andrew's hall to follow service.
