Andrew William Philip
April 1962 - February 2013
It is with great sadness that we recognize the passing of a wonderful, loving, and heroic man. He was a devoted father, husband and friend to whom nothing was more important than family. He passed away peacefully surrounded by those he cherished the most: his children, wife, extended family and close friends. Andy endured many years of illness with grace and dignity. He is remembered as a man who faced great challenges but always managed to see the glass half full; he laughed every day and remembered to tell everyone how much they meant to him. The way that he showed nothing but pure love and affection towards people even when he was not feeling well revealed his true strength as a person. Family and friends are truly heartbroken by his loss, but we would be remiss if we forgot to mention the effects of his passing on his faithful companion: Belle. Many thanks to the ICU staff at Toronto Western hospital and specifically to Dr. Mohammed. The attention and care that he received from everyone at Toronto Western and Markham Stouffville hospitals has shown us true determination to try to help him recover, and we are forever grateful for that. The overall care Andy received, and the empathy shown towards his family will never be forgotten. A visitation will be held at the Highland Funeral Home- Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham (N/E corner of Hwy 404 and 16th Avenue) 905-887-8600, on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at The Olive Branch Church 175 Anderson Avenue, Markham at 1pm. With a private family interment.
