Louis Lajos Szabo
Passed away peacefully in his 83rd year on February 10, 2013 at home in the presence of family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce (nee Murray), brother Kari, sisters Marika and Edith. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dale Butterill, son, Martin (Margaret Siwek), daughter, Alison (Jeff Dakers), cherished granddaughters, Melissa and Sarah, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Brian McLellan. Lou participated in the Hungarian revolution and courageously escaped on January 7, 1957. He was passionate about classical music, opera, politics, and literature. He played a good game of tennis and took up golf and downhill skiing in his early sixties. Lou was a fine man who was deeply loved and respected by family and friends. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca.
