Donald A. Chamberlain
Died peacefully on February 9th after a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, ON in his 81st year. Much loved husband of Thea Chamberlain, loving father of Ross (Roxanne) and endearing ''Papa'' of Andrea Begin. Predeceased by wife Ruth (nee Johns), brother Ross, daughter Jill Begin and Thea's son Michael. Will also be greatly missed by the Van Rees children, Ken (Lois), Alan (Charlene), Alison (Martin) and their families as well as all his nieces and nephews. Don was born in Montreal and graduated from McGill University as a Civil Engineer. His accomplished career with Dominion Bridge Co. Ltd. took him from Montreal to Regina, Winnipeg and Hartford before he enjoyed many happy years of retirement in Cobourg, Orangeville and Guelph. Don made many lifetime friends who he treasured from every community he lived in, through his active involvement in his church, his many volunteer activities and playing bridge. Don was a skilled (and for those who knew him best - ''detailed'') do-it-yourself handyman, woodworker and stained glass craftsman. Don was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, who will be sadly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 255 Woolwich Street, Guelph, ON. Online condolences may be made at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
