Died in Kitchener with his wife and children by his side. Born in Stepps, Scotland, Alex was the sixth of nine children of Charles and Margaret Stuart. Alex enlisted in the RAF in WWII and in 1941 was posted to Canada, where he met Sylvia, married her in 1942, and had a wonderful 70 years of marriage. Settling in Canada after the war, Alex had a successful career in the steel industry with Stelco and Samuel, Son & Co. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, happiest with his family around him. Alex is survived by Sylvia, his remaining brother Ronald, his children Charles (Judith), Alexandra, Cameron (Shelley), Graham (Jane), and their families. There will not be a visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
