FRAZER, George Leonard
Peacefully in Toronto on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in his 87th year. Devoted husband of 60 years to Elizabeth (nee Peacock). Cherished father to Bruce, Anne and Jacqueline and her husband Patrick Magee. Loving grandfather to Fraser, Stewart, Matthew, Katie, Megan, Kyle, Grace, Charlie and Emily. Dear brother of Malcolm and his wife Bev and sister-in-law Marguerite. Predeceased by his beloved brother Donald, sister Muriel and her husband John. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. As Chairman of Leon Frazer & Associates, George was a true visionary in the Investment Industry, never ceasing to hold himself up to the highest standard for 66 years. George was a mentor and friend to myriad men and women along the way; he helped to shape many careers with his quiet generosity. Always available for a history lesson, whether in investments, business, or social history, he had an opinion and an anecdote for just about every occasion. His sense of humour was boundless. He believed in service above self, he was a life-long volunteer and member of Rotary for 38 years. George was an avid sailor, artist, Argos and Maple Leafs fanatic, and lifelong supporter of organized sports for kids. We would like to thank Dr. Edward Gutman of St. Joseph's Health Centre Toronto for his compassion and understanding and the gentle care and exceptional kindness of the staff at Runnymede Healthcare Centre. Friends and family may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of Jane Subway, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday February 12, 2013. A service to celebrate George's life will be held in the Turner & Porter Chapel on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow, bring your George stories! As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation or Runnymede Healthcare Centre would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences may be directed to www.turnerporter.ca.
