Died Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He sustained a severe brain injury as a result of a traffic accident. Arthur was an elegant, classy, renaissance man with a great sense of humour and a contagious laugh. His sudden death is a great loss to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving companion, Carol Slatt, and his son Bill Stone. He will be remembered by his family in Munich; Sieglinde and George Iff, Erwin, Hannelore and Harald Brugger, Doris Iff-Hiemer, Hans Peter Hiemer and Hannes Julian Hiemer, Manfred and Helen Brugger and their children Carrie, Laurie and Linda, and their children who reside in Iowa. Others who will miss him include his extended family, Riki Turofsky and Charles Petersen, Jordan Slatt and Robin Kerbel, Maddy and Cole Slatt, Sari and Joseph Grove, and Paul Tucker, his drinking and sailing buddy for over fifty years. Sadly, Arthur missed the opening of his favourite Wagner opera, Tristan and Isolde. A tribute reception will be held Sunday,
February 3, 1:00 pm, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, East entrance. We are grateful to Valerie Hemp and Karen McCormick and the nursing staff of the Neurosurgery ICU and Critical Care Unit at Sunnybrook Hospital.
