INGLIS, Andrew DEREK Ure
Passed away suddenly while vacationing in Cuba on Sunday, January 20th, 2013 in his 74th year. Loving husband of Bettyne of 45 years. Beloved father of Jamie and his wife Jane. Proud grandfather of Hillary and Andrew. Survived by his sister Janice Patterson and his brother Ian Inglis. Derek was born on April 4th, 1938 in Menstrie, Scotland. He was educated at St. Andrew's University before coming over to Canada. Derek was a faculty member at St. Andrew's College from 1964 until his retirement from the position of Assistant Headmaster in 1997. During his tenure he also served as a teacher, coach, advisor and residential housemaster. He enjoyed travelling, reading, and spending time with his friends and family. Visitations will be at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street S., Newmarket on Friday, February 1st from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm, and on Saturday, February 2nd from 2-5 pm. A celebration of Derek's life will be at St. Andrew's College Chapel, 15800 Yonge St., Aurora, on Saturday, February 9th from 1-3 pm.
