REID, Helena (Betty) (nee Sasse)
Born February 9th, 1916 in London, England, died in Toronto, January 23rd, 2013. Predeceased by her husband Leonard Henry Reid. Helena (Betty) trained as an SRN in London and spent time during World War II on the North African front. Life took her on to Assam, India, after the war, as the wife of a tea planter and finally to N. Ireland, where she worked as a Public Health nurse until her retirement. After her husband's death in 1996 she emigrated to Canada at the age of 82 where she played out her final chapter - all along the way her engaging personality and humour embraced and enlivened our lives leaving us all, Tim (Patricia), Peter (Sharon), six grandchildren; Anthony (Amber), Emma (Tupper), Toby (Kiki); Andrew, Ian and Campbell and six great-grandchildren, with great memories and stories. Grateful thanks to all at the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
