DWOR, Libby (nee Feinberg)
Born January 10, 1914 in Peterborough and died peacefully in her home in Port Colborne on January 15, 2013. Libby was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Dwor in 1979. She had four children; Judith Sirkin Valanos, Linda D. Pollack, Mark (Gila) and S. Jeffrey (Suzi). She had nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Libby was a sophisticated philanthropic world traveller grounded in family, home, and religion. She was a committed supporter of Israel, the arts, culture and health care and was actively involved in many organizations such as Port Colborne General Hospital, Marine and Historical Society, the Community Concert Association, and Haddassah and ORT. For over 30 years she supported in both a humanitarian and philanthropic manner the Richard E. and Libby Dwor cultural Centre in Kfar Menachem in Israel. She was a wonderful mother, Bubby and Grand Bubby. We miss her more than we can describe. Shiva at 53 Tennessee Avenue, Port Colborne until Thursday, January 24. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UIA Canada/Kfar Menachem.
