Veronica (Ve, Vi) Roberts
July 3, 1932 - January18, 2013
After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Ve passed away at peace with the world and herself in her 81st year. Born and raised in Liverpool, England, the fourth of seven children, she immigrated to Canada in 1956, young baby in tow, following her devoted husband, Kenneth, to start a new adventure with him in their adopted new country. The young couple settled in Willowdale, and proceeded to build their family. Veronica was the proud mother of four children: Geoffrey, Linda, Alan and Gina, who grew up in a loving family, overseen caringly by their beloved mother who filled their worlds with wisdom, songs and happiness. Ve was a much loved mother-in-law to Lori, John, Joy and Chris. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathan, Eric and Kevin (Geoff and Lori), Colin and Cameron (Linda and John), and Charlotte and Colin, (Gina and Chris). She was thrilled at the arrival of great-grandchild, Marcus, in 2011. Veronica is predeceased by parents Anastasia and Thomas, brothers Tommy, Herbert and Billy, and survived by her brothers, Gilbert, Lenny, and sister, Ann. The family would like to thank Dr. C. K. Chung for his care and support in the past few months. Additionally, the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital offered kind, supportive and clear advice to the family that Veronica appreciated greatly. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at R. S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding Ave., south of Steeles Ave., 416 221-1159). Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 22nd in the R.S. Kane Funeral chapel at 11:00 a.m. A brief reception follows at the same address. A private interment ceremony attended by immediate family members only will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hill House Hospice in Veronica's name. Condolences may be offered at www.rskane.ca.
