SHATFORD, Genesta Anita (nee Chiasson)
At the age of 81, on January 17, 2013, Genesta is finally at peace after enduring more than her share of health challenges over the past several years. The loss, two short years ago, of her husband Don was acutely felt and severely diminished her capacity to keep fighting. Genesta enjoyed her youth and early married years in Halifax and later moved to Toronto with Don to raise their family. Remembered by those who loved her as creative, resourceful, generous and fun, Genesta will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her daughters Lisa (Jim Stacey) and Janice, and her grandson Harrison. A very special thank you to Perlita Francia and all of the lovely caregivers who were devoted in their attention and whose care allowed her to remain at home. Friends may call on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 4:30-8 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at The Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure (1300 Leslie St., south of Lawrence). A private family enichement will take place at Holy Cross Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Geriatric Psychiatry Department. Condolences www.rskane.ca. R.S. Kane
