BEECHER, Beverly June (McKown)
Died peacefully at Villa Forum, Mississauga on Monday, January 14, 2013, age 72 years. Born in Toronto, raised in Mt. Dennis. An alumna of York Memorial Collegiate 1958, The Hospital for Sick Children School of Nursing 1962, and U. of T Nursing Administration 1964. Her professional career contrasted with a 'laid back lifestyle' shared with beloved husband and soulmate Ron Beecher. Bev will be sadly missed by all who entered her world. Classmates' tributes pour in: a unique and loving individual
an amazing spirit
a trooper as she struggled with 20 years of illness. Bev enjoyed raising Ron's little girl and adored their grandchildren. She loved the sun on her face, jazz and folk music, a good book and a glass of wine
to dance, sing, ski, sail or paddle on a quiet northern lake or hike a forested trail. Her paintings and photography reflected a free spirit. Predeceased by her parents Alf and Rita (Crowhurst) McKown, her husband Ron, their infant son Michael, her sister Lois (Atkinson), she is remembered by friends and colleagues, brother Don (Pat), daughter Bev (Lyle Currie), dear grandsons Michael, Brian and Matthew; cousins, nephews, and nieces include Doug and Marlene Jackson, Robert and Dawn Crowhurst, Jack and Louise Dougan, Christine and Frank Callaghan, Steven and Jenny Atkinson. Special thanks to Dr. Douglas and every staff member at Villa Forum for 10 years of genuine love, care and respect for Bev. Memorial Service Friday, January 18 at 1 p.m. at Glendale Memorial Gardens and Visitation Centre, 1810 Albion Road, near Hwy. 427, Etobicoke. Donations to Huntington Society of Canada or Villa Forum are welcome. Condolences and donations may be made at:
