In his eighty-second year, peacefully at home, following a debilitating stroke in 2010. Survived by his loving wife Jacqueline, his devoted children David, Susan (Geoff Arnoldi), Catherine McAllister (Robert) of London U.K., his loving step-children Daniel Whittaker (Brenda Kops) of Halifax, Douglas Whittaker (of Philadelphia), and Gordon Whittaker (Laura) of Halifax. Greatly missed by his grandchildren: Anne Pringle (Steve Thompson), Bill and Drew Pringle, Elizabeth, Carolyn and Grace McAllister, Claire, Madeleine, Sara Jane and Owen Whittaker, his sister Marie Thompson, and his sister-in-law Jane Cook of Stratford Ontario, and her daughters Martha (Roger Skubowius) of Stratford Ontario, and Andi of Australia. Predeceased in 1985 by his first wife, Patricia Anne Blackwell. Bill lived a life of happiness and accomplishment. Graduate of Ridley College, Trinity College of the University of Toronto, and Osgoode Hall Law School. Partner, Managing Partner and Chairman of Fraser Milner Casgrain (retired). Past-President of the Pelican Bay Golf Club, and long-time enthusiastic member of the Toronto Golf Club. Visitation on Monday January 14, 2013, at 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauaga. There will be a private family service, followed by a memorial gathering on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Badminton and Racquet Club, 25 St. Clair Ave. W., Toronto. A celebration of life will be held in May 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
