J.Lionel M. Thurlow
May 26, 1915 - January 8, 2013
Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at Montfort Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Ruth (McLaughlin), brother Charles and sister Florence (Davis). Leaving to mourn his son Geoffrey (Yvonne), daughters Mary Jane (Bob Philp ) and Sally (Gregory Ward), brother Arthur and sisters Margaret (Morash), Evelyn (Campbell) and Mildred (Moran), six grandchildren and one great grandson. Lionel graduated Dalhousie University with degrees in Chemistry in 1935 and 1938 which led to careers in explosives and later in nylon. Retired in 1972, he famously drew his pension longer than he worked. Lionel was an original who made many friends in his travels. He will be cremated in Ottawa but his wake will spread far and wide. Raise a glass in his memory!
