HODGINS, Muriel Irene - Muriel was born in Saskatoon on February 7, 1934 and died on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, ON. She was the first daughter of Dr. Norman and Irene McLeod. Muriel was the most beautiful, adored and wonderful wife of Burnell for 56 years and the proud, loving and supportive mother of two sons, Dr. Michael M.D. (Cathy) of Ottawa and Dr. Greg D. Phil of Tucson. She had three cherished grandchildren, Fran, Clark and Wills. She is survived by siblings Barrie (Carol), Murray (Jan) and Marylin (Alan). Her younger sister Susan, predeceased her in May, 2012.She was a lifelong student, teacher and practitioner of the Christian faith. Muriel was also an accomplished and appreciated pianist (ARCT), piano teacher and composer of heartfelt inspirational music and songs. In later years, with energy-robbing health problems, her life revolved around her home and family, her church and playing bridge with the ''girls''. She was loved by everyone. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed. A memorial service will be held at Collier Street United Church, 112 Collier St., Barrie, ON on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Visitation at 10:00am with service at 11:00am followed by reception in the church hall. For those who wish, donations in memory of Muriel to Collier St. United Church would be appreciated.
