Glenn E. 'Buck' Buckley
May 22, 1934 - January 6, 2013

Glenn had recently taken ill, though his determination and optimism made his death at home sudden and unexpected. Buck was well known and respected on Bay Street, with a career spanning nearly 60 years. Beginning as a 'runner' for Watt and Watt, Glenn moved to research and made a name for himself as a mining analyst. As Glenn became more involved in public offerings he moved into Corporate Finance at Cocharne Murray, surviving successive mergers from the early days to Midland Walwyn and finally Merrill Lynch. Glenn rose to be a leader in Investment Banking. Glenn served on several boards including AIC. After retiring, Glenn never left the Street and returned for his weekly pints with the guys. Known for his high ethics Glenn was a trusted advisor and mentor to many. Glenn gave a significant amount of time to a number of charities including Special Olympics Ontario. Glenn served as both a Director and a major fundraiser but took the most enjoyment from the athletes themselves, rarely missing the Provincial Games. After retirement, Glenn became a committed driver for Meals On Wheels, making regular Monday morning and Christmas Day deliveries. Glenn loved his MG and enjoyed many road trips with Suz and the MG Club. Glenn is survived by Susan, his wife of 40 years and his four daughters, Deborah Chan, Linda (Dan) Buckley-Boyd, Glenda (Doug) Nichols and Cathy (Rick) Hornung. Glenn was a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren Ethan and Mackayla. Glenn will be sadly missed by all. Funeral Service for Glenn will be held in the chapel of the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES CHAPEL LIMITED, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Friday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception celebrating his life at the Turf Lounge, 330 Bay Street, Toronto. At the request of the family, donations in the memory of Glenn may be made to the Special Olympics Ontario, 200 - 65 Overlea Boulevard, Toronto M4H 1P1.
