ARANHA, Edward Joseph Victor
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father Edward Aranha on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at the age of 99. With his family by his bedside he peacefully decided to join his wife Mona with whom he shared many happy years and had four devoted children. Edward is survived by his daughter Eleanor (Tony) De Souza in Sydney Australia, son Maurice Aranha in Karachi Pakistan, daughter Shirley Aranha in Toronto, and son Brian Aranha (Krystyna) in Hamilton. Edward also leaves behind his granddaughter Natasha De Souza (Neil Donlevy) and great granddaughter Gabbi, grandson Cyrus (Ronda) De Souza and great granddaughter Maddie all in Australia and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Visitation Centre in Mount Pleasant Cemetery 375 Mount Pleasant Road (east gate entrance) on Friday, January 11 from 6-9 pm and Saturday, January 12 from 9:30-11:15 am. Funeral Mass celebrated on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12 p.m. at St. Basil's Church, 55 St. Joseph St. (At Bay). Interment to follow at Mt Hope Cemetery, 305 Erskine Ave. A reception will follow at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre after the burial. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the 4th floor Moore Wing staff at Isabel & Arthur Meighen Manor Nursing Home and the doctors and nurses at the Emergency and IC Unit of Sunnybrook Hospital.
