Cowling, Harvey James
(Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #34, Orillia and former active Resident of Bayshore Village) After Celebrating a wonderful Christmas and New Year with his family, Harvey passed away at the Leacock Care Centre on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 with his beloved wife Marilyn by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his Goddaughter Heather Parkes (Wayne) of Minesing and their children Becky Gardner (Ryan), Mandi, Katie and Fraser; sisters-in-law Patricia Girard & her sons Shawn (Maureen) & his family of Newmarket & Douglas of Vancouver and Bonnie Wren (Jim) of Burlington. Predeceased by his first wife of 35 years Joyce (nee: Jolly), his parents George & Minnie Cowling and by his sister Audrey. Harvey was the top salesman for two of the largest typewriter companies Remington Rand and Smith Corona. He eventually opened his own successful company Mercury Business Machines in Scarborough. Harvey was a very active and dedicated volunteer and supporter of the Progressive Conservative Party. The late Mr. Harvey Cowling will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Wednesday, January 9th from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Thursday morning, January 10th, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment: Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
