Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2013 in his 84th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years Susan (nee Potts) in 2001 and devoted son Andrew in 2005. Survived by his older brother Colin of Poole, England. Will be greatly missed by his children Carrie (Paul Denton) of Aurora, Stephen (Winnifred) of Cobourg, Sheilagh (Philip Sherman) of Richmond Hill and daughter-in-law Susan of Collingwood and grandchildren Mark, Emma, Sean and Tessa Denton; Alison, Tony and Riley Peters; Katie and Sarah Sherman and Hollis and Griffin Peters. Leaves behind his caring wife Barbara Mendelson and her family. Also survived by niece Ann Cruickshank, nephew Ian Peters and their families in England. Born in Wembley, London, England he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK. Married to Susan in 1956, they emigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1957. Above all else, family came first and foremost for Alan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, between the hours of 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Morley Bedford Funeral Services, 159 Eglinton Ave. W., (2 lights west of Yonge St.). Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, January 9, at 2p.m. at St. John's York Mills Anglican Church, 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto. If desired, donations may be made to the Peters Family Lectureship at Sunnybrook Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
