MENZIES, Grace JoAnne (nee Warwick)
January 25, 1932 - December 29, 2012 Suddenly at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Ernest and Wilhelmena Warwick of Blenheim ON. Beloved wife of Alex for 49 years. Cherished mother of Geoffery (Ana), James, and Meredith (Mark). Loving and doting Nana to Payton, Avery and Cameron. JoAnne leaves behind her dear sister Janet and was a meaningful presence in the lives of her nieces and nephews. Family was central to JoAnne's life. As a mother, she was nurturing and a guiding light to whom all she loved. JoAnne graduated from Branksome Hall and then Michigan State University. Under the guidance of her father, JoAnne worked in International Trade in Russia and Romania. A member of Osler Bluff Ski Club, Muskoka Lakes G. & C. C., Kingsway Lambton United Church, where she gave a great deal of her time to the U. C.W., and the Bull & Bear Women's Group. JoAnne travelled extensively with Alex to many places; South America, United Kingdom, Europe, Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Antarctica, Central America and numerous cruises. JoAnne will be lovingly remembered for her bright eyes, a warm and cheerful smile, generosity and an unfailing kindness that put family and friends alike at ease. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Jane, east of the Jane subway, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Kingsway Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, Toronto, on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow.
