MANSELL, Dodie (Doreen) 1916-2012
Died peacefully, age 96, on Monday, December 31, 2012 surrounded by family. Survived by her daughters Jane and Victoria, her granddaughter Whitney Keeley and son-in-law Kevin Keeley. Predeceased by her grandson Griffin Keeley. Born in Cheshire, England, Dodie immigrated in 1957 to Oakville, where for the next 50 years, she led a gracious, energetic life. Dodie loved tennis, gardening, cats, crosswords, fortune telling, antiques, travel, historic houses, making chutneys and preserves, entertaining and walking every day. Her philosophy is best summed up in the following 'sure fire recipe for life' that she gave to her granddaughter. Mix together generous amounts of: common sense, endurance, a caring attitude (about everything and everyone), adaptability, independence, self motivation, a sense of adventure, a sense of humour and patience. Dodie's life was proof that the best and most beautiful support of life is friendship. There will be an interment and memorial tea in memory of Dodie in the spring. The family would like to thank the staff of Nisbet Lodge for their care and dedication.
