FORBES, John Henry

Born 1917, Bristol England to Albert and Elizabeth Forbes. Passed at Belleville General Hospital on Friday, December 28th, 2012. Beloved husband of Anne Marie (Charpin) Forbes. Loved father of Marc Forbes of Belleville, Madeline Sharp and her husband John of Brighton, Ian Forbes and his wife Mary of St. Catharines, Louis Forbes and his wife Susan of Toronto and Dr. Andrew Forbes and his wife Darla of Belleville. Also remembered by grandchildren Sariya (John Hodgson), Alexa (Thomas Wexler), Ashley (Fraser Hall), Victoria, Tyler (Kelly), Patrick, Alexander, Michael, Matthew and Madison; great-grandchildren Ariadne, Fred, Elliott and Adrian. Predeceased by his sister Pamela. Served in the RAF from the early days of WWII to 1946. Immigrated to Canada in 1946 with Anne and Marc. He was a proud British subject and a proud Canadian. John was committed to his family, church and community. He sat on and took leadership roles on countless committees and boards such as The Batawa and Trenton Separate School Boards, The Hastings County Board of Education, The Trenton Planning Board, The Trenton Memorial Hospital Board, committees with The Kingston Diocese and The Knights of Columbus, to name a few. John was known for his pastoral work for the Church then his love of family, his love of travel and new places, his enjoyment of golf with his pal Jack and above all as a gracious gentleman. The family would like to thank the staff at Trenton Memorial Hospital and Belleville General Hospital for their kindness and care, in particular the ICU staff at BGH in his last days. The family will receive friends at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL CENTRE, 60 Division Street, Trenton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered from St. Peter's Church, Trenton on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Father Timothy Harrison officiating.
